Chapter 01 By: Anzony Darzo
This tale falls in a city that never sleeps. Paranoia was a common cold within this sector. There have always been reports, but only one siting. So many have been put into an institution swearing demons have come to get them. The stories that fall of deaf ears are the missing flyers of men, women, and children. No family has had time to mourn for they also fall away into the night. As the years passed a thick fog has claimed half the city. The places where read is the only color found. Kids that cried wolf were the first to go. Dead? Alive? Nothing has ever been confirmed. Our attention now is drawn to a homicide detective Oscar that has worked these cases since the first. He knows all of the rumors spread around the station. Of course he claimed not to believe, but every time he spoke his false truth a cold tingle spread down his spine as if someone was trying to bring notification. He knew there was something odd about it, but he continue to deny it. One night while he was out with his partner they got a call about weird behavior in one of the sectors. There are nine sectors. As you can attain the higher the sector digit, the better the community. The call came from sector seven.
Oscar and his partner both thought it was odd that this type of call was weird for this sector. They approached the resident to find it silent. There were no people outside like the matter had already been seen to, but Oscars partner saw a light flicker and someone walk pass the window of the upstairs. He said he was going to go check it out and he should call it in to let HQ know that the matter was none, or so they had so quickly assumed. As Oscar was calling it in his partner approached the house cautious as to regret that maybe the choice to tell HQ to lower their guard was a mistake. As soon as Oscar made the call the radio frequency went static. Oscar tried to get back in contact, but was unsuccessful in his attempts. On his last attempt he heard a scream, and it sound familiar.
It sounded like his partners, but in his mind he thought “there is nothing wrong here, my mind is just playing games with me”. Not soon after there was laugh as if someone had knew his assumptions. He then exited the car and after about five step he heard a scream, it was his partner he knew. He ran into the house hoping that his partner was just play the joke children play. He ran in the house, rushing up the stairs to find his partner in a corner full of so much fear his eyes faded white like his now cotton hair with a yellow puddle at his knees. Hurrying over to him he asked as to what happened, but all his partner did was dart his eyes at something behind him. As Oscar looked into his partners eyes he saw a glimpse of something he quickly told himself this is not truth. That again his mind was playing games that kids play, but as he turned to prove and give a reassuring smile, there was an epic darkness within the corner with eyes that pierced through him and saw. It then smiled and a dark clawed appeared from out of the shadows. Oscar thought his end was in second, but he heard an eerie voice pass his ear……”NOOOO”.
He was so freaked that he passed out on the floor, but not before seeing the dark claw reach into his partners chest and relieve him of an essence that was sure to have been his life. There was no way to explain what had happened. Oscar was one that was of a dark past, but thinks denying it will lift his pain for sunshine to visit early, but no luminous can exist through thicker growing clouds. Oscar knew this was a new beginning of some ones end for this is not the first saw he witness being taking by an absorbing night. When Oscar was a kid, him and eight of his friends liked to run around finding different things of infinite joy when one day within their epic journey one of Oscars young friends came across a ouja board. Oscar and all of his pal except for one came from a religious background to where early on the parents gave a cautious warning to stay away from the devil and witches. If not, you will be covered or bound to a fate worse than stiches.
They were all good kids that did were they were told except for the one. His parent (the outcast of the town) were into all that was dark, but weren’t ever able to conjure anything that burned off their eyebrows. This was the reason why they told their young daughter that there was nothing to fear, but the fear you build on your own. Their daughter had become completely fascinated in the arts of the shadows. Oscar parents did not want him to hang around her, but they saw vision that he was liking her and the feeling was returned. All they wanted was his happiness, but in the back of their minds there was a thousand jackhammers beating at the brain. She convinced Oscar to try the ouja board that was uncovered in an abandon trailer house. There trailer house was a scene for a death sometime before the birth of the young angels. It was a scene that ironically all of their parents were involved of knowing. After this a mist grew from the trailer and spread. Everyone in the town figured that it was just a permanent weather change. The ouja board has bloodstain on it, but look to blend in with black star shaped ouja. So the your girls affection was able to win over Oscars choice as to whether he should mess with th harmless board or do what his gut is telling him. It was a landslide choice for his gut was abandoned, and his other friends would do anything that he did because all of their trust was in him.
